TicketBeGone is a fully online Texas defensive driving course for licensed adults who need a court-accepted driving safety course — whether the goal is ticket dismissal, an insurance discount, or a serious refresher on Texas roads. The course is provided by Traffic Safety Research, LLC.

We built TicketBeGone so Texas drivers can finish a state-approved class without a classroom, a fixed schedule, or a price above what Texas allows. You register in minutes, start as soon as payment clears, and work on any phone, tablet, or computer. Progress is saved, so you can log out and return later.

The course is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Our provider number is CP1119. That number identifies the approved provider on your completion certificate and in the record we transmit to TDLR. Courts and many insurers look for an approved driving safety course — not a generic online video.

The price is $30.00 — the lowest price allowed by law — all-inclusive. There are no hidden course fees and no upselling. English and Spanish are included. The class is six hours, the shortest length Texas allows, and you have 90 days from purchase to finish. There is no separate final exam. Each session includes an open-book progress check you must answer correctly before you continue.

When you complete the course, we email a PDF certificate the following business day and report completion to TDLR. If you enrolled for ticket dismissal, you submit that certificate to the court printed on your citation. If you enrolled for an insurance discount, you send the same PDF to your provider after you confirm they will accept it.

The same TDLR-approved Texas driving safety course serves three common reasons for enrollment. Confirm your situation before you pay — especially if you need the certificate for a court date.

Ticket Dismissal

Many Texas courts allow an eligible citation to be dismissed after you complete an approved defensive driving course. You must hold a valid non-commercial Texas driver license, and you generally cannot have used defensive driving for dismissal in the past 12 months. Construction-zone violations with workers present, speeding 25 mph or more over the limit, and commercial-vehicle cases are not eligible. Read the FAQs, then enter the county and court printed on your citation when you register.

Insurance Discount

Many insurers offer a premium discount after a defensive driving or driving safety course. Ask your provider first — discounts are set by the insurer, not by TicketBeGone. Complete the six-hour course and send them the PDF certificate we email the following business day. Approval by TDLR (provider CP1119) is what most carriers look for on that certificate.

Personal Education

If you simply want a current, Texas-specific refresher, you take the same approved course. The curriculum covers Texas traffic laws, defensive driving, emergencies, occupant restraints, alcohol and traffic safety, and human trafficking awareness. You still receive a completion certificate and we still report to TDLR.

3. Finish in 90 days

Check email for login instructions. Complete six hours at your own pace. Session quizzes must be answered correctly. No separate final exam.

4. Submit your certificate

We email the PDF the following business day and report to TDLR. You deliver the certificate to the court or your insurer.
